5 Restoration and Disaster Recovery Companies

There are a few phone calls you hope you’ll never have to make in life—911, phone calls announcing bad news, or your one call from jail. However, another number you’ll hopefully never have to dial is that of a restoration company if you experience significant damage to your home or property.

Mother nature can get the best of us, and so can accidents or maintenance errors leading to disasters. Basements flood, grease fires start, lightning strikes, pipes leak, and carbon monoxide can seep into our homes. Worse yet, there are things we have absolutely no control over that can cause extreme damage—floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, and severe storms.

If you experience damage from one of these, and the job requires more than a hardhat and chainsaw, you’d want to call a restoration company. Of course, restoration companies and disaster recovery companies are much more expensive than your average fix-it handyman. Hopefully if you experienced damage severe enough to need the services of a restoration company your insurance would cover it. Of course, that depends entirely upon your insurance policy and what it covers, which is just one more reason to read your policy at least at every renewal, talk it over with your agent, and know what’s covered and what’s not. Additionally, making sure you properly maintain your home or property and also identifying any possible risks is important as well.

To help remember this, set up a routine for doing these two things, such as every time your policy renews. At every renewal, read your policy and do an inspection of your home to ensure everything is properly maintained. Remember to always keep records for any repairs or maintenance work you’ve done as you may need them in the event of a claim.

Of course there are things that can happen regardless of how often you read your policy, how well you understand it, or how well you maintain your property. Regardless of whether you experience loss due to mother nature or some other peril, knowing who to call as soon as possible can make a huge difference.

There are numerous restoration companies all over the country, but when it comes to restoration of your home in order to get it back to the way it was, you want only the best.
