RV Insurance
RV insurance is considered a
‘specialized’ product that combines both auto and home insurance. Being
specialized, this coverage has to protect in two different situations:
1) reimbursement in case of loss or damage and 2) financial liability
protection. RV insurance has been designed to meet certain needs of RV
owners.
Most insurance packages for RVs will offer one of two types of coverage:
~All Perils. This provides the highest protection. It protects against
all risks except any listed in the exclusions. This is also the most
expensive with the highest premium.
~Named Perils. This is the basic level of protection. The one insured
typically specifies the perils, such as collision, theft, hail and
wind. Each on increases the amount that is added to the premium.
Damage that is beyond the deductible may be covered but has to be paid
of the owner of the RV; just the same is in home or auto insurance.
Also the higher the deductible, the lower the premium rate will be.
REASONS WHY TO PURCHASE RV INSURANCE:
1. Covers more than a regular auto policy covers. It is somewhat
similar to combing an auto and home policy into one. If someone gets
hurt while in your RV, they will be covering under the policy.
2. Provides good replacement coverage. For example, if you have a new
RV, are the first owner and it is totaled within the first 5 years, it
can be replacement for an RV of the same quality. And after the first 5
years, you will be given the amount that you have paid for the RV brand
new. If you buy an RV that is used, you will be paid the purchase price
towards that of another RV.
3. Can apply to any type of RV. Whether you own a simple truck camper
or fully equipped pusher, coverage can be bought for it. It also does
not make what age the RV is.
If you want to travel in your RV with peace of mind and protection, RV
insurance is necessary. It can possibly save a lot of money and hassle.
